Southern Wild Co was founded in 2018 by Tania Robinson and Hannah Ley – two friends who share a deep love for the Australian bush and all that it inspires.
Their work with Southern Wild Co was informed by our their experiences growing up in the country and now, making their homes in the bush.
They sought a way to share the evocative nature of wild Australian landscapes with friends and family, both here and overseas – and discovered the power of scent, enamoured by its ability to arouse emotion and trigger memories of home in us all.
Together, they have combined their skills in art, design and aromatherapy with passion and style to launch their brand.
OUR PLACE - Inspired by Dorothea Mackellar’s iconic poem My Country and Lithgow artist, Graham Gercken’s painting, Kanimbla Valley No.3, Our Place is the promise of long, lazy days with golden views taken from the refuge of a cool, shady verandah; the scent of bush blossoms carried on a warm breeze.
Dry tobacco and leather combine with bright florals and spicy clove bud to evoke the warmth of an Australian summer afternoon in the bush.
SOUTHERN SKY - A tribute to the Milky Way and the sparkling mystery of the vast southern sky. Sparkling top notes of ground spice and a dark amber accord are underpinned by smoky notes of oak moss. Think curling smoke from a crackling campfire under the gum trees, reaching up to a million sparkling stars.
Inspired by Henry Lawson’s poem, A May Night on the Mountains and captured by Blue Mountains photographer, Liam Foster.
OCEAN ISLE - Inspired by James McAuley’s poem, Terra Australis, and in collaboration with Western Australian artist, Allira Henderson, Ocean Isle honours our deep connection to the ocean.
Celebrating childhood play among the shallows to fearless explorers and roaring oceans, Ocean Isle combines aromatic citrus, aquatic and spicy wood notes to deliver a fresh and invigorating scent experience. Imagine diving under waves!
HIDDEN VALE - Honouring the ancient beauty of the Blue Mountains of New South Wales and the unique blue haze that envelopes them, Hidden Vale imagines the warmth of last light on majestic cliffs as shadows come to rest in the hidden gullies below.
Featuring a harmonising blend of Australian native botanicals, Hidden Vale is inspired by the poem, On Australian Hills by Ada Cambridge and captured by Blackheath artist, Natasha Daniloff.
SIRENS - A melting pot of native Australian botanicals and homegrown flora, Sirens is a luscious blend of lemon myrtle, native plumbush and rose wrapped gracefully in warm woody undertones.
Captured by photographer Luisa Brimble and inspired by the quote, Love slowly like a ship full of flowers by iconic artist, Sidney Nolan, Sirens pays homage to our country gardens at the edge of the wild bush landscape.
